The main difference: a plan or a balance

Atli sells plans. Send a destination in WhatsApp or Telegram, choose a fixed allowance or an unlimited option and pay in the conversation. The price is known before the trip. If the plan runs out, buy another one in the same chat.

Roamless gives you two ways to pay:

  • FLEX is a dollar balance. Data is charged per MB at the rate for the country you are in. Purchased credit does not expire and works across more than 200 supported destinations.
  • FIX is a conventional data plan for one country or region. Current destination pages list allowances from 1 GB to 50 GB, usually with 30-day validity starting when data is first used.

If both are available on the account, Roamless uses the relevant FIX plan first. When that plan is used up or expires, data switches to the FLEX balance automatically.

The difference matters most when a trip crosses borders. A Roamless FLEX balance can keep working without another purchase, although the rate per GB changes with the country. With Atli, choose a regional plan for the full route or add the next destination plan in the chat. The new plan goes to the same Atli eSIM, so there is no second profile to install.

Price comparison

These public prices were checked in US dollars on August 31, 2026. Roamless FLEX costs are calculated from its current $2.45 per GB rate for the USA and Turkey. Actual FLEX charges are deducted per MB, so you do not have to consume a full gigabyte.

USA

DataAtli planRoamless FIXRoamless FLEX if fully used
1 GB$3.99$3.95$2.45
5 GB$9.99$13.45$12.25
10 GB$15.99$22.45$24.50
20 GB$29.99$36.45$49.00

Roamless has the lowest price at 1 GB. Atli becomes cheaper at 5 GB and the gap grows with the allowance. For 20 GB, Atli costs $6.46 less than Roamless FIX and $19.01 less than using 20 GB through FLEX.

Roamless also lists 50 GB for $41.95 in the USA. Atli does not have a matching 50 GB fixed plan, but it offers unlimited plans by duration, including 15 days for $39.99 and 30 days for $64.99. Those are different products, so compare the plan terms as well as the headline price.

Turkey

1 GB$3.99$3.95$2.45
5 GB$6.99$9.95$12.25
10 GB$11.99$15.45$24.50
20 GB$19.99$22.45$49.00

The pattern is similar. Roamless is cheaper for 1 GB. Atli costs less at 5 GB, 10 GB and 20 GB. Roamless has a 50 GB plan for $34.45, while Atli offers unlimited Turkey plans from 5 to 30 days.

The right comparison depends on expected use, not the largest allowance on the page. Someone who checks maps and sends messages for a weekend may spend less through FLEX than by buying any plan. Streaming, hotspot use and photo backups move the calculation toward a fixed plan quickly. The guide to how much data you need for a trip can help with that estimate.

Current Roamless prices are available on its official USA and Turkey pages. Check the checkout total before buying because both companies can change their prices.

Setup and buying another plan

Both companies use one reusable eSIM profile. The plan or balance can expire; the installed profile does not.

With Atli, the purchase, eSIM delivery and support stay in WhatsApp or Telegram. Install the first Atli eSIM before travel while reliable WiFi is available. Later plans are added to that profile automatically, including plans for other supported destinations. When you arrive, turn on the Atli eSIM and select it for mobile data.

Roamless uses an account with mobile apps and a web app. Its mobile app handles the eSIM, balance, usage, calls and number features. Install the global Roamless eSIM once, then add FLEX credit or buy FIX plans for later trips. Roamless says the same profile handles both products.

Before buying either service, confirm that the phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Do the installation before departure rather than relying on airport WiFi after you arrive.

What happens to unused data or credit?

Purchased Roamless FLEX credit has no expiry date. If you load $20 and spend $7, the remaining $13 stays in the account for a later trip. The amount of data it buys changes with the destination’s rate. A $10 balance buys about 4.08 GB at $2.45 per GB, but less in a country with a higher rate.

Roamless FIX data expires after the plan’s validity period. Reward credit can also have its own expiry, so the no-expiry claim applies to purchased FLEX credit rather than every promotional balance shown in the app.

Atli’s fixed data expires with the plan. The eSIM profile remains installed and can receive another plan automatically. This works well when you prefer a clear allowance and price for each trip, but unused fixed data does not become credit for another country.

Data use and hotspot

Both services allow hotspot use. Roamless states that it does not impose a separate hotspot cap or speed limit. Data shared with another device still comes from the FIX allowance or FLEX balance. Atli hotspot traffic comes from the plan you bought.

Metered credit needs a little more attention. Phones can use mobile data for cloud backups, app updates and background syncing even when you are not actively looking at the screen. That is normal phone behaviour, not an extra Roamless fee, but every megabyte still reduces the FLEX balance. Turn on Low Data Mode or Data Saver and keep large downloads on WiFi. The travel data-saver guide has the relevant iPhone and Android settings.

A fixed plan makes the maximum cost obvious. FLEX is more precise for light use because you pay only for the data consumed. Decide which type of control you prefer.

Phone numbers, calls and texts

Atli is data-only. On a dual-SIM phone, you can keep your primary SIM active for calls and texts while Atli handles mobile data. Internet calls and messages through WhatsApp, Telegram, FaceTime and similar apps work over the Atli data connection.

The Roamless eSIM is also data-only. Roamless separately offers outgoing calls inside its app, paid from FLEX credit, and optional Roamless Numbers subscriptions for incoming calls and SMS. Those features run through the app rather than the phone’s native dialler or Messages app. A FIX data plan by itself does not pay for in-app calls.

Your home SIM can stay active beside either travel eSIM for its existing number, calls and texts. Turn off data roaming on the home line if the travel eSIM should handle mobile data. Your home carrier may still charge for calls, sent texts or other roaming activity.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Atli when you expect to use at least 5 GB in the USA or Turkey, based on the prices above. It is also the clearer option when you want unlimited data or prefer buying and getting support in WhatsApp or Telegram.

Choose Roamless when your usage is very low, your route crosses several countries or you want leftover money to remain available without an expiry date. Its optional in-app calling and number products are also useful if data alone is not enough.

For either one, install the eSIM before the trip, keep the profile after the plan ends and check the current destination price before paying.

FAQ

Is Atli cheaper than Roamless?
It depends on how much data you use. Roamless FLEX is cheaper for 1 GB in the USA and Turkey. Atli is cheaper on the matched 5 GB, 10 GB and 20 GB plans checked for both countries.
Do Roamless FLEX credits expire?
Purchased FLEX credits do not expire. FIX data plans and promotional rewards have their own validity periods, so do not assume every balance in the account lasts forever.
Do Atli or Roamless offer unlimited data?
Atli offers unlimited plans priced by trip length in many destinations. Roamless currently offers pay-as-you-go credit and fixed plans up to 50 GB on the USA and Turkey pages, but no unlimited data plan is listed there.
Do I need to install a new eSIM for every trip?
No. Keep the original profile installed with either service. New Atli plans are added to the same eSIM automatically. Roamless FLEX credit and FIX plans also use its single global eSIM.
Does Roamless provide a phone number?
The Roamless eSIM itself has no number. Roamless sells optional number subscriptions and offers paid outgoing calls inside its app. These are separate from the travel data plan. Atli is data-only, allowing you to keep your primary SIM active for calls and texts while Atli handles mobile data.
